Petitioner was originally indicted for first degree murder, and was convicted of second-degree murder after he pleaded guilty to that lesser offense. But that conviction was reversed, Clark v. State, 48 Ala.App. 108, 262 So.2d 310 (1972), for the trial judge's failure to advise defendant of his privilege against self-incrimination and of the maximum and minimum sentences that might be imposed upon him...
