John W. Brown was convicted by a jury of rape and the abominable and detestable crime against nature. The jury was unable to agree on his punishment and the court fixed punishment at fifteen years' imprisonment for the rape and at fifteen years' imprisonment for the crime against nature with the terms to run consecutively.
