Following a jury trial, defendant was found guilty of rape, deviate sexual assault, aggravated battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in violation of sections 11-1(a), 11-3, 12-4, and 12-4(b) (1) of the Criminal Code (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 38, pars. 11-1(a), 11-3, 12-4 and 12-4(b)(1)). He was sentenced to concurrent terms of 8 to 24 years for rape...
