On January 7, 1971, the SS FINNCLIPPER, a vessel owned and operated by Enso Gutzeit O/Y (shipowner), was berthed at Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad's Pier B, Newport News, Virginia, preparing to discharge a cargo of bales of pulp paper.
