DIXON, Justice.

Defendant, Gene R. Jones, was charged by bill of information with having committed the crime of theft of cattle. R.S. 14:67.1. After a trial by jury defendant was found guilty of attempted theft of cattle. Imposition of sentence was suspended and defendant was placed on supervised probation for one year and six months. Our consideration is focused on the period subsequent to the defendant's trial (April 18, 1973), and to the date defendant was sentenced...
