OPINION

CORNELIUS, Commissioner.

Appellant was convicted of carrying a pistol while in premises covered by a permit issued under the provisions of the Texas Liquor Control Act. Punishment, enhanced under Art. 63, Vernon's Ann.P.C., was set at life.

In appellant's first ground of error, it is urged that Beverly Ann Campbell was the common law wife of appellant and therefore the court should not have allowed her to testify against him. The witness...
