On June 28, 1972, the Federal Power Commission promulgated its Order No. 622, whereby Columbia LNG Corporation, Consolidated System LNG Company, and Southern Energy Company were granted Certificates of Convenience and Necessity under Sections 3 and 7 of the Natural Gas Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 717b and 717f.
