Plaintiff Priscilla B. Green, a school teacher, was forced by defendant Board of Education of the Town of Waterford, Connecticut, to take a leave of absence without pay from her job because of pregnancy, although she wanted to teach another two and one-half months and claimed to be able to do so. Arguing that the Board's inflexible maternity leave provision denied her the equal protection of the laws...
