On December 28, 1970, the defendant pleaded guilty to armed robbery and was placed on probation for five years, the first six months to be served in the Cook County Jail. Within the term of probation a rule to show cause why defendant's probation should not be revoked was issued on the grounds that he had violated the terms of his probation, i.e., he had been convicted of theft...
