Plaintiff Valentine, on his own behalf and for his wife, filed suit in Oakland County Circuit Court. He asked that Michigan Bell be ordered to provide adequate telephone service, damages for losses incurred as a result of inadequate service, punitive and exemplary damages in the amount of $790,000, and a finding that the Public Service Commission's regulations concerning limitations of liability be declared null and void as against public policy...
