The defendants were indicted by a grand jury on May 29, 1969 and charged with the crime of possession of a weapon as a felony. Two fully loaded guns, .45 calibre and .38 calibre pistols, were found in their rented car, one under the driver's seat and the other on the floor, behind the right front seat.
