The defendant in the instant case pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon, was given a prison sentence, and appeals.

His first contention is that the guilty plea was entered by his attorney rather than by the defendant in person. The record indicates that he originally pleaded not guilty, but that later he appeared in court with counsel, at which time the county attorney filed an amended information containing one count instead...
