This is an appeal from a conviction for wilful failure to report for alternative civilian work in violation of the Universal Military Training and Service Act, 50 U.S.C.App. § 462(a).

In 1967 Appellant registered with his local Selective Service Board. He was classified I-O (conscientious objector), which made him subject to call to perform alternative civilian work. In August, 1969...
