Defendant Stephan Parsons, a Jehovah's Witness, was convicted in a jury trial of failure to report for civilian work as ordered by his draft board. The order was based on a I-O classification as a conscientious objector. Defendant was sentenced under the Federal Youth Corrections Act, 18 U.S.C. §§ 5010(a) and 5023(a), and was placed on probation for a period of 2½ years on the condition that he report for civilian work at a public...
