Plaintiff is a stock brokerage firm and defendant was one of its customers. Plaintiff alleges in the first cause of action that defendant gave it orders to sell certain securities, which orders it executed; that defendant never delivered certain of these securities, and that defendant was required to buy them in order to make delivery to the buyer.
