Appellant, Roy T. Mejia, was charged in four separate indictments with the murders, on April 13, 1966 in St. Mary Parish, of Barbara Verret, Brenda Ann Verret, Lucie Ann Verret and Robert Verret, Jr. Upon his arraignment on said charges, he moved for a change of venue claiming that he was unable to secure a fair trial in the Parish of St. Mary.
