A fire and explosion which occurred in the granulator house of the American Sugar Company Refinery in the Arabi-Chalmette area on February 15, 1965 is the basis of these suits. For about 15 months prior to the explosion Link-Belt Company, under contract with American, through its own personnel and through subcontractors, was engaged in modifying facilities in the granulator house for the movement and storage...
