Respondent's husband, John Sperbeck, was forty-six years old when he suffered a heart attack and died on February 11, 1967. At that time Sperbeck had been employed for sixteen years as a fireman by the city of Fond du Lac. On the day of his death, Sperbeck had not been working but had been spearfishing with his son and two friends. He returned home, and that evening suffered the fatal heart attack.
