Defendant Steven Lee Tobin was found guilty of a Dyer Act violation, 18 U.S.C. § 2312, in a jury trial and was sentenced under the Federal Youth Correction Act, 18 U.S.C. § 5010(b).1 His principal contention on appeal is that the District Court erred in admitting an exculpatory statement made by the defendant at the time the car was stopped by a police officer for an outdated license check, a similar statement...
