The plant of Lakewood Manufacturing Company at Westlake, Ohio, was damaged by fire on October 3, 1961. Lakewood was insured under twelve separate policies of business interruption insurance written by the defendant insurance companies. The parties were unable to agree on the amount of business interruption loss resulting from the fire and, in March, 1963, the dispute was submitted to appraisal in accordance with a provision of the policies.
