John Alford Turner appeals from the denial of habeas corpus relief by the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.

In November 1956, in the Superior Court of Robeson County, North Carolina, Turner was tried by a jury for first degree murder, convicted of voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to not less than four nor more than eight years in state prison to commence at the expiration of previous sentences...
