This is an original habeas corpus action by which petitioner seeks to be afforded a belated appeal under the rule of Hollingshead v. Wainwright, Fla., 194 So.2d 577.

In 1965, petitioner was charged with murder in the second degree by shooting one Leonidas G. York with a pistol. After a jury trial in Bay County, Florida, petitioner was convicted of a lesser crime, manslaughter, and sentenced to serve fifteen...
