In this case National Compressor Corporation, on the basis of tort liability, obtained a judgment upon a jury verdict against the defendants Williams, Carrow, McGee, Spradling and Missouri Pacific Railroad Company1 for $12,000 for the negligent destruction by fire of a compressor in which plaintiff asserted ownership.
