This is an expropriation suit arising under the provisions of the "quick taking" statute, LSA-R.S. 48:441-460. The defendants owned a tract of land fronting on the east bank of the Mississippi River just south of the Town of St. Gabriel in Iberville Parish. The Department of Highways crossed the defendants' property in constructing Louisiana Highway 30, a two-lane highway running generally north and south. The defendants' tract contained some 444.69...
