The State of Louisiana, through the Department of Highways, filed suit to expropriate a small portion of the defendant-landowner's property containing .758 acres in an irregular shape. The property is situated in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, approximately two miles north of Breaux Bridge and is classified as open farm land, there being no buildings or improvements on the property.
