Lusich, an employee of Boland Machine & Manufacturing Co., Inc., a shore side ship repair contractor, brought this maritime tort action for damages for personal injuries sustained while on board the SS LUCILLE BLOOMFIELD for his employer under a contract to make certain repairs on the starboard settling tank and the port boiler. He sought to recover upon the theories that his injuries were proximately caused by the negligence of the shipowner...
