The State's evidence shows the following facts: About 9:45 p. m. on 9 January 1965 in the city of Goldsboro defendant drove an automobile out of Slaughter Street and proceeded east on Elm Street at a speed of 50 miles an hour, with his automobile going back and forth across the street.
