Defendant was tried and convicted in the municipal court of Kansas City, Missouri, on the charge of stealing personal property, to wit, merchandise belonging to Milgram's store, in violation of Section 39.750 of plaintiff city's revised ordinances of 1956. Upon appeal to the circuit court, trial to the court without a jury resulted in a judgment of conviction assessing a fine against defendant in the sum of fifteen dollars. Defendant now appeals...
