Plaintiff, after a jury trial (prayed for by defendant), recovered judgment against defendant for $5,000.00 for damages for embarrassment, humiliation and physical injuries experienced and sustained as the result of a beating administered to her by defendant on the evening of September 9, 1962. The judgment was reduced to $3,000.00 on a motion for a new trial by defendant in which defendant alternately suggested "that the court * * * reform the jury...
