In March 1960, Hazard Express (Tom Johnson d/b/a), which for a number of years has operated a common carrier truck service between Lexington and various points in eastern Kentucky, made application to the Department of Motor Transportation (hereinafter D.M.T.) for an extension of its certificate which would authorize operations between Louisville and the eastern Kentucky points.
