This is a suit upon a promissory note signed by defendant, Earleen B. Horowitz, in the principal sum of $500, which instrument provided for a pledge of 59 shares of stock of the International Paper Company as collateral security for the payment thereof. Named as defendants, in addition to Horowitz, were J. B. Howard and the brokerage firm of Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith.
