Beasley appeals from an order of the district court denying his motion filed April 17, 1961, in pursuance of 28 U.S.C. § 2255 to vacate the sentence imposed upon him in 1946.

Upon jury trial in 1946 Beasley was convicted of the offense of sending extortion letters through the mail and was sentenced. He took no appeal. In 1957 he filed a motion in pursuance of § 2255 to vacate the sentence imposed, on the ground that his conviction was...
