On August 11, 1959 a four-count indictment was returned against Elmer Ransome Hughes charging him with four separate sales of morphine sulfate on the 1st, 2nd, 14th and 26th days of May 1959, respectively, in violation of Section 4705(a), Title 26, United States Code.
