The defendants appealed from the judgment of the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans, awarding the plaintiff maximum compensation for total permanent disability.

The plaintiff had been employed by Falstaff Brewing Corporation for about thirteen years. He had been assigned to various jobs from time to time, but his regular job was termed relief man in the warehouse. Warehouse work was commonly referred to as the "rock pile." The duties...
