In September, 1957, Mildred E. Reeves sued Frederic L. Paterson on two promissory notes. Paterson answered, asserting several defenses and by way of counter-claim asked that he be adjudged entitled to one-half interest in certain lands in Virginia, the title to which stood in the name of the plaintiff.
