Plaintiff and Ella Dean Fuqua were married on March 10, 1932, and had two children by such marriage. In 1948, plaintiff voluntarily abandoned his wife and home. On October 7, 1948, his wife filed a complaint in the Circuit Court of the Tenth Judicial Circuit of Alabama, in Equity, No. 76736, wherein it was prayed, in part, that "upon final hearing of this cause, she be awarded permanent alimony for her support and the support of the minor children...
