This libel in admiralty arose as the result of water damage suffered to a cargo of wheat belonging to the Government of Pakistan and shipped from Tacoma, Washington, to Karachi, Pakistan, on the Ionian Trader. Six days prior to the expiration of the one year statute of limitations in the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act, 46 U.S.C.A. § 1303(6), the libel was filed in the name of the Government of Pakistan against the Ionian Trader by the proctors...
