This action stems from an accident which occurred in the square block premises owned by the Chase Manhattan Bank (hereinafter referred to as the Bank) in the lower end of Manhattan Island. At that time foundations were being laid in the premises by three contractors, acting as joint venturers (hereinafter referred to as the Foundation Contractors), for the construction of a huge building for the Bank...
