Appellant, Mayso McCall, a Negro man, was charged by Information with the crime of assault with intent to rape, it being alleged that he assaulted Lorraine Tate, an 11 year old Negro girl, on March 27, 1958, with the intent to rape her. On trial, the jury returned a verdict of guilty, and fixed appellant's punishment at 21 years imprisonment in the state penitentiary. Judgment was accordingly entered, and from such judgment comes this appeal...
