The parents of a seven-year old boy, Thomas D. Meyer, who was hit by a truck on April 23, 1954, and died on August 29, 1954, as a result of his injuries, recovered judgments on jury verdicts against the driver of the truck, the owner, and the hirer, a partnership trading as Hercules Block Company.
