This is a condemnation case. The court submitted five issues to the jury and absent the burden of proof clause in each issue, they are substantially as follows:

1. What do you find was the market value of the 2/3 of an acre condemned by the State of Texas for highway purposes belonging to Elbert Thompson at the time it was condemned, considered as severed land, to which the jury answered $66.67.
