In this Jones Act, 46 U.S.C.A. § 688, suit the main question before us, is whether there is medical evidence sufficient to support the jury's verdict for aggravation of plaintiff-appellee's preexisting left hip condition.

On January 7, 1953, Davis, the plaintiff-appellee, working as an oiler aboard the SS Steel Seafarer, struck his left side against the rail of the fireroom ladder....
