On February 21, 1949, the claimant, Jessie White, sustained an injury to his back while he was employed as a sandblast helper with the Atkinson-Jones Construction Company. After receiving heat treatments for three days, he returned to work "on light duty," but he continued to receive medical treatment until he was laid off in May of 1949.
