These are appeals from convictions under 62 Stat. 701 (1948), 18 U.S.C. § 371 (1952), for conspiring to violate § 22-704, D.C.Code 1951 by bribery, and from convictions of bribery itself. The conspiracy and bribery were directed toward influencing the official conduct of Lieutenant Todd O. Thoman, Jr., of the Metropolitan Police Department, to perform his duties with partiality and favor, and otherwise than as required by law in the...
