In 1953, Judson Griffin and James Crenshaw were codefendants to an indictment for armed robbery in the criminal court of Cook County. They were convicted and sentenced to the penitentiary. They filed in the trial court a motion requesting that they be furnished copies of the common-law record and of the transcript of proceedings...
