The defendant, Bonnie Lee Kuhnhausen, appeals from a judgment of conviction for the crime of murder in the second degree. She was sentenced to life imprisonment.

On January 18, 1952, defendant and one Elmer Dorsey Williams were arrested in Portland, Oregon, and placed in jail as suspects in the beating two days earlier of one Jalmar Tarkia. Tarkia died on January 19, 1952, as the direct result of the beating which he had received...
