Vincent W. Hallinan was charged by indictment with violating section 145, subdivision (b), of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 145, subd. (b))* by "willfully and knowingly fil[ing] false and fraudulent income tax returns." The jury found him guilty as charged on five counts of the indictment.
