On May 13, 1950 at about 6:30 a. m. in the Town of Hessmer, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, the side of a fast moving railroad passenger train and an automobile driven by Gordie E. DeLoach collided, resulting in serious personal injuries to his wife, their minor son, and to himself. This action was brought in the district court on behalf of all three and the jury returned verdicts in favor of the wife in the sum of $29,500.00, on behalf of the minor...
