Defendant was born in Antigo, Wisconsin, in 1904, was graduated from primary and secondary schools there and went to Milwaukee for his prelegal work at Marquette University, from which he was graduated with the degree of bachelor of arts in 1926. He received his law degree at Harvard Law School in 1929, worked for a short time with a firm in Buffalo, New York, and later that year began his practice in Milwaukee...
