Appellant was indicted, tried and convicted on a single count charging him with violating 18 U.S.C. § 2314,1 in that he transported certain specifically designated and described articles of jewelry having a value of more than $5,000 from Miami, Florida to Havana, Cuba, on April 18, 1952, and that he knew that the jewelry "had therefore (sic) been stolen, converted...
